FIRST THINGS FIRST MANIFESTO

︎ Screenprinting
︎ Poster design

Using the complete First Things First manifesto by Ken Garland, the brief was to produce a creative printed response – this included three typography posters highlighting sections of the text in interesting forms. The result includes one A1 screenprinted poster, and two A2 prints. This was inspired by the graphic design from when the manifesto was published, such as Wolfgang Weingart, Octavo and TM RSI SGM.
CASE FOR HER
︎ Photography
︎ Motion graphics
︎ Design
︎ Art Direction

A photo + typographic poster series highlighting the important conversations people need to and should be having around what makes them feel good. Many studies have shown the disparities between male and female pleasure, a large proportion of women don't tell their partners when sex hurts. Conversations during sex and intimacy are so important not just for consent but for pleasure. The best thing people can do with their mouths to improve their sex life is talking.
WORK OF SPRAY
︎ Brand identity
︎ Motion graphics
︎ Conceptualisation
︎ Website design

Fictitious brief where the concept included creating a brand around a living or deceased person of interest. Basquiat is one of the most prolific artists to ever exist, having his career initially begin as an urban vandalist. To pay homage to this idea, Work Of Spray presents a contemporary brand that provides a platform for graffiti artists to sell their customisable art on items like clothes, furniture and accessories. It persuades consumers to change their perspective on graffiti; how it should be seen as art rather than vandalism. Elements of Basquiat’s work perpetually radiate throughout the identity.
THROUGH THICK & THIN
︎ Book-making
︎ Editorial design

The brief was to produce a piece of design using an idiom (Through thick & thin). In the anthropocene age, the relevance of climate change has heightened; the response shows an editorial piece that physically shrinks in width every few pages. The typeface also becomes thinner as the reader progresses through the book.
︎ Filming
︎ Editing / Colour correction
︎ Script-writing

A speculative one minute moving image piece that introduces a topical news item or story aimed at the social media generation. The result was an engaging filmed response of a woman discussing art as a coping mechanism for mental health.
